What does the species look like?

Soybean is an erect, bushy, annual, herbaceous plant growing 1 to 6 feet tall; occasionally its stems are vine-like. Its small, white, pink, greenish-blue, or purple flowers are somewhat showy, have both male and female parts, and are insect -and self-pollinated.

Soybean is a cultivated plant in the U.S. It grows best on fertile, well-drained soils, but will tolerate a wide range of conditions. It is frost-sensitive.
